Charles lives in Ingatestone, just five miles from the M25 and Chelmsford, the County Town. Charles, who used to work for NatWest, leads the charity from his home and can be contacted there most days. Charles was one of the Hope and Aid Direct volunteers who went to Sri Lanka immediately after the Tsunami.

I was a banker with NatWest for 30 years before taking early retirement in 1997. After a number of business/consultancy roles I am now Chief Executive of the Berkshire County Blind Society. I started supporting convoys in 1994 by fundraising and helping to sort/pack donations and loading the lorries prior to departure. I was persuaded to take part in a convoy in 1999 - and I haven't stopped since then! I am very fortunate to have gathered around me a very supportive team of people and organisations who have been invaluable in ensuring that I and/or at least one of my colleagues have been on every convoy since 1999. I was appointed as a Trustee of the charity in 2010.

Norman Hart has joined us to help with the charity's financial accounting and reporting. A Chartered Management Accountant, Norman worked for many years as an auditor in Central Government, as well as contract work with the Audit Commission and a spell with private sector accountants.
